The Friends of Notley Green (shortened to FONGS) has been a live charity for over 20 years.

We are a group of working parents and carers, both mums & dads, with our mini FONGs who organise events to raise money for our school.  We have raised over £200k since the charity was formed, and in the last 5 years alone we have raised nearly £75k!!!

As government funding does not always stretch as far as we would all like or expect, we run fun events for the children, such as discos, movie nights, family quizzes and our huge Christmas Fayre together with its famous grotto!! There are also plenty of social events for parents, such as bingo & quiz nights.

This is all so we can provide the children with extra resources, educational tools and extracurricular activities. We have also created whole new areas within the school to benefit the children.

We run the school's Pre-Loved uniform in the colourful shed near the Year 1 classrooms by the school office twice a month.  This normally opens Wednesday week 1 and Thursday week 3, every month, weather permitting.  Please check the shed or email us for upcoming dates.

Past funds raised have contributed towards the gym trail, outdoor play & music equipment, Koala Corner, a brand new sensory and regulation space, our Forest School cabin, books for the library, year 6 graduation leavers books, Lego innovation kits, class iPads and lots more!

Our AGM is held in the summer each year when the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are up for re-election.  If you have the ability to support our charity / committee and any time available, please feel free to stand for election.

We can’t do what we do without our volunteers, so even 30 minutes at key events can make all the difference. You are welcome to be a regular volunteer or just dip in and out.  You don’t need to be a committee member to participate, all are welcome whether it's for planning, pre-event set up, or the events themselves. We are hugely grateful for any support, whether it’s donating, baking, volunteering or sponsoring our events.
