Friends of Notley Green
The Friends of Notley Green (now shortened to FONGS) is a group of parents and carers, long-established, who organise events to raise money for the school. As government funding does not always stretch as far as we would all like or expect, we run fun events for the children, and even social events for parents, so we can provide the children with extra items. Past funds raised have contributed towards a complete stage for the school hall, outdoor play equipment, books for the library, shade sails, trim trail, year 6 leaving presents, painting aprons, visualisers for every class, iPads and lots more!
Our AGM is held in the summer each year when the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, secretary and treasurer are up for re-election. If you have commitment and time available, please feel free to stand for election. We are delighted to see new faces at our meetings - although it’s a lot more informal than it sounds. We meet during the school day, but if enough people call for the occasional evening meeting, we are happy to accommodate them. You are welcome to be a regular attender or just dip in and out. You don’t need to be a committee member to participate, all are welcome.
We would love to set up a list of volunteers that we could call upon in times of need, and if you are happy to be on this list, please let us know in what capacity you can help, such as poster design, raffle prize donating, manning a stall etc... on the day of an event, (we try to divide the event into time slots so we can all get to have fun with our children), or if you want to help with any part of planning - the choice is yours! The Christmas Fayre is our giant event needing many, many volunteers and support in advance and on the day.
